 OVERSEAS PINOY LANTERN

Filipino christmas lantern

The Filipino Christmas lanterns comes in every material, shape and size imaginable. Traditional parols are hand-made using glazed Japanese paper, bamboo and floral motifs while the more durable contemporary designs are crafted from plastic or capiz shell and brass. Pampanga-style lanterns are more intricate, with blinking electric lights to enhance the many colored patterns.

Ex-Tourism Chief says Home-stay Tourism a New Business Option

With moneyed and spoiled baby boomers influencing the market, former tourism secretary Guillermina T. Gabor said Filipinos should look into their houses whether these could be transformed into a business and ride what she says is a booming home-stay tourism industry.

“The key word today is ‘experiential.’ The days of a 10-day, 10-city tour are over. Travel would be closer to home. Hence, you must not overlook what’s on your doorstep,” Gabor told a sparse audience in a forum on tourism last week.

The Santa ‘Clause’

Soldier

It takes years to earn the trust of a client, but it takes seconds to lose one.

Doing business is all about building relationships. At the end of the day, you ask yourself as an entrepreneur what better way can you further cultivate your relationship with the people who help make the business grow.

The Yuletide Holiday offers an opportunity to spread goodwill and express gratitude for the patronage and the little favors that helped boost your business in the year. This is when Christmas giveaways play a key role.

But wait, what exactly is your purpose of having Christmas giveaways? As far as the business is concerned, here are three good reasons to play Santa this Christmas:

Create a Positive Feeling. Since time immemorial human society has valued the exchange of gifts. Holiday presents are a symbolic way of showing that you care. With that, it makes your clients or suppliers feel important. By adding a personal touch to presents, you tell your customers that they are valued more than just for the business they bring but also as persons.

Increase Brand Visibility. The items you give reinforce the company identity and should project your core values and benefits. What your business gives to suppliers, customers and friends is a tool for building company image and reinforcing your niche. Whether a stack of personalized writing pads, an umbrella, a bookmark or the wrapper itself, it goes a long way to include your company logo or brand name there.

Generate Prospects List. Presents you distribute in exchange for prospects names and contact details are good value for money. Tokens that are useful, unique and entertaining can translate into business or repeat transactions. This season, you can be wild in your imagination in coming up with giveaways. It’s never too late to think of Holiday marketing efforts, which will certainly prove profitable in the process. Postscript: Suggested Giveaway Items: For Brand visibility, distribute promotional products like facial tissue packs, mugs and coasters, mouse pads, watches and clocks, conference bags and folders. Sticky notes are an ideal promotional giveaway idea. Print your brand name and contact details on those sticky notes. This idea proves to be light to the pocket and it can be passed around; imagine the maximum potential of users that can come across those sticky notes.
