Another First for SMEs
This week marks a milestone for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the Philippines. Remaining steadfast in its mission to promote the growth and development of the sector, Planters Development Bank will unveil the SME Industrial Park on Wednesday, July 11 in Cebu. The first of its kind in the country, the project represents a strategic, private sector-driven contribution to nation-building.
It goes without saying that this remarkable feat is a testament that Plantersbank goes beyond the rudiments of banking; it has the foresight to give SMEs the leverage to better compete in the highly competitive global marketplace.
Preceded by the success and the impact of SME.com.ph on homegrown entrepreneurs, the SME Industrial Park is guided by the same principle, that is, to create avenues for continuous business success. As the SME website has given entrepreneurs the capability to enhance and advance their businesses on the internet, so will the SME Industrial Park provide them much needed leeway for expansion.
On a macro level, the inception of the project transcends business gains. Not only are the SMEs within the park to enjoy perks and privileges, the province benefits from this pioneering move. It will bring job creation opportunities, the reduction of poverty in the countryside and the formation of more vibrant and thriving community. It seems that with every move the bank undertakes it starts a chain reaction for change: enhancing profitability and the quality of people's lives, effectively achieving a successful double-bottom line.
The Plantersbank SME Industrial Park will stand as a testament to the zeal to propel the country's SMEs in their quest for global excellence and recognition. For the country, the entrepreneurs and the millions who depend on SMEs for their living, the efforts of Plantersbank are always well worth it.
