Editor's Take
In the wake of the success of SME.com.ph, the pioneer virtual community for Filipino entrepreneurs, Planters Development Bank and this company launched the sister site Bizster.com.ph, a spin off the successes of existing social networking sites.
From SME.com.ph’s Business Opportunties page—we have expanded the section to offer more detailed profiles for small and mid-sized businesses keen to take practice runs in the information superhighway. Bizster.com.ph provides registered users with a FREE account, enabling SME marketers and micro entrepreneurs to upload and share product photos, service updates, company news, store events and contact information on the Web.
“We take off from the phenomenal growth of social network sites,” says SME.com.ph president Adonis C. Yap. “We have seen the successes of Facebook.com (69 million), Friendster.com (12th largest Web site in the world with 41 million registered users and 25 million monthly unique visitors), MySpace.com, Multiply.com (5 million users), LiveJournal.com (1.35 million) and a lot more. Our group thought of putting up a site, specifically tailored for businesses thus, Bizster.com.ph was born.”
The Inquirer’s Chupsie Medina tells more about Bizster.com.ph
These SMEs have one thing in common—they never thought of being small-time. They did not fear competing with the giants. They even created the NEED for their products and services, which users online learned about it and patronized as well.
