Editor's Take
Despite the opinion of three judges favoring the teen contender David Archuleta for the hotly-contested American Idol title, 25-year old rocker David Cook still prevailed by winning the hearts of the viewing public.

Cook, a native of Blue Springs, Missouri overtook Archuleta not just by mere number of votes. This year's American Idol is a classic example of a person who knows how to take 'risks'.
During the final face-off on Tuesday night, May 20, Cook's repertoire included songs that, as American Idol judge Simon Cowell remarked, did not fit his vocal range and style. Cook rendered the Mariah Carey hit 'Always be My Baby' to suit his mellow rock style, and took further risk by singing another song, 'The World I Know' that brought the rocker to a teary-eyed close.
Archuleta, on the other hand, picked a "safe" song which he felt was the way to an easy win so he sang John Lennon's evocative 'Imagine' a second time around. Though vocally superb, for the public the younger David's performance was not as emotionally mature or good enough.
In his book 'Warrior of the Light', Paulo Coelho says the warrior knows what he wants. And so should the entrepreneur. Cook's recent display clues us to the qualities essential to entrepreneurial success--unyielding in passion, willing to risk painful blows, and a warrior learns lessons that win future battles.
